This .psd file for Photoshop allows you to quickly and easily create a vintage 3D film title card, simply update the text and choose a background image to use. There are also tonnes of customisation options including 5 different textures overlays, 3 adjustment layers and full control over the 3D effect using Photoshop 3D tools.
Please note that Photoshop CS6 Extended or Photoshop CC are required for this resource. Before you download, check that your version of Photoshop has 3D tools.
How to edit the 3D text
- Open ‘Vintage Film Title Generator.psd’ in Photoshop
- Show both the 3D and Properties panels from the Window menu
- Select the main title 3D layer
- In the 3D panel select the ‘Vintage Film Title’ object
- In the Properties panel click ‘Edit Source’
- Update the text and save to apply changes
How to edit the background image
- Open ‘Vintage Film Title Generator.psd’ in Photoshop
- Double click on the ‘Background Image’ thumbnail in the Layers panel
- Place your custom image into the smart object
- Save and close the smart object
How to edit the textures
- Open ‘Vintage Film Title Generator.psd’ in Photoshop
- Expand the texture group
- Toggle the visibility of the texture layers until you find a combination you like
- Increase or decrease the amount of texture using the layer opacity
